Mon 04 May 2015Konichiwa!
Japan Class has recently celebrated Japanese Children’s Day.

Skipping Workshop
Fri 01 May 2015Skipping Workshops came into school to teach the children some new skipping skills. All the children made great progress in learning how to skip including how to hold the rope and the correct way to bounce. They taught us some new skipping games such as “Sharks” and some great skipping rhymes. Some of our children really excelled themselves learning to skip whilst crossing and uncrossing legs, speed skipping, skipping with a partner, skipping between two ropes and much more. At the end of each day we celebrated by watching a demonstration from some children from each class showing what they had learned. We look forward to seeing the children practising their new skills at playtimes and teaching each other these new skipping games -

Zoolab Visit
Tue 21 Apr 2015We had a very exciting day on Tuesday. Heather from Zoolab came along with a giant millipede, a giant African snail, a corn snake, a tarantula, a cockroach and a rat. We learned about the different habitats where these creatures live and how they are adapted to survive in their environment. Heather was very impressed with the children’s knowledge and excellent questions.
“It was fun learning about the millipede. I was surprised to find out it has 240 legs! It felt tickly in my hands,” Daniel P - China Class
“The rat looked cute and cuddly but it has sharp claws. It has fur on its body to keep warm. I liked stroking it,” Lucy - China Class
“I liked feeling the snake, it was cold and scaly. It is a carnivore so it eats mice,” Brooke - China Class.
