  • Rounders Competition

    Fri 17 Jul 2015
After school 35 Year 2 children took part in a rounders competition on FOJS’s field, playing against Year 2 children from Durley Primary School. All the children showed great team work, collaborating with each other and cheering each other on. We are pleased to report the final result was a draw between America Class and Durley, as they both won three of their games and drew with each other.  Well done to all the children for taking part and thank you to MLT coaches for organising and encouraging the children as our referees.

We are pleased to announce our Bring and Buy sale raised £244.21.  We would like to say thank you to everyone for sending in their spare toys, games and books and thank you to everyone who came to buy things.  We hope that you like your new toys, games and books.

Well done to all our Civic Award children for organising the event and thank you to all the grown ups that helped in school too.

We have decided to donate the money to the Southampton Hospital Charity for local children.

  • Visit from M.Bertrand Grenier

    Fri 10 Jul 2015
We were very fortunate to have a visit from the French teacher that we have a link with in France. He came with his ukulele and all the classes really enjoyed learning a new French song with him.

At lunch time Bertrand joined the French Club for their French picnic in the ‘World Garden’. They enjoyed trying Port-Salut, Brie and Camembert. We also welcomed back the dolls Harry and Lauren and said goodbye to Valérie and Clément.

  • Cricket Master Class

    Fri 10 Jul 2015
Following our Cricket Competition in school last month, eighteen Year 2 children were chosen to take part in a Cricket Master Class at the Ageas Bowl. Our cricket coach Adam Carty led the children through a series of activities to demonstrate their batting, bowling and fielding skills culminating in a mini game of cricket. The children were very fortunate to play on the cricket ground, watch some of the professional cricket players Hampshire v Sussex and have a tour of the grounds. The children excelled themselves showing superb cricket skills and Adam was very impressed. We are very proud of them.
