  • Year 2 Civic Award Assembly

    Fri 27 Apr 2018

On Wednesday 19th April we were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Eastleigh to our school. She came to present our Year 2 children with their Civic Award certificate. The children who completed the Civic Award had been working on their citizenship skills by taking on responsibilities at home, at school and regularly participating in a club or hobby outside of school. The children were proud to shake hands with the Mayor, share their success with the adults who came to the assembly and take their certificates home. The children will be meeting to discuss and plan the final part of the award in the coming weeks and it will be completed later this term.

  • Mums and Me

    Fri 27 Apr 2018

    Back to school for Mums.

Every year Fair Oak Infant School invite ‘Mums’ to come to school and spend time in class with the children. Over 350 came to school this year. The children and grown-ups had a wonderful time learning together.

Year 2 children used the artwork of Karl Warner and Giuseppe Arcimboldo as inspiration for their own work as part of their topic ‘Food, Glorious Food.’

“I thought the session was very informative for the children. We had good fun sketching and painting with different media.” Year 2

“What a great activity – drawing fruit and vegetables. The children’s artistic skills are fantastic. Thank you for a lovely morning.” Year 2

In Year 1 clay was used to create models of the Titanic with their ‘All Aboard’ themed topic.

“I had a lovely time working with my daughter and her friends. It was a very creative session and the children were very respectful and worked fantastically together. Thank you for having me!” Year 1

“The activities were lots of fun. The children learned a lot and were a real credit to the school. All the adults at the school make the children feel valued. Thank you for planning these fantastic opportunities for us.” Year 1

Year R looked carefully at animal patterns and tried to recreate them in clay and paint as part of their topic about animals.

“Really enjoyed the morning. Great to be involved in some of their day to day learning and see them in their school environment.” Year R

“It was a delight to work with the children today. They listened very carefully to the instructions and worked hard at the activities.” Year R
