  • Cricket Masterclass

    Wed 25 May 2016

Ten Year 2 children had a fantastic morning playing cricket at the Ageas Bowl. They practised bowling, batting and fielding. Other Year 2 children from Stoke Park Infant School, Durley Primary and Upham Primary were there too. They then played a game against Stoke Park and our players performed superbly, working as a team. They successfully won the game! The children were also fortunate to watch part of a cricket match Hampshire v Sussex and meet the U19 captain.

Over the last few months our zebra “Oakey” has been designed, painted, named and finally been finished this week. The children all saw him in assembly today and Mrs Lund Yates is delivering him to the Marlands Centre after school tonight where he will join 100 other small zebras from the project.

Look out for him on the zebra trail this summer.

Year 2 have visited Tesco to find out how our food gets from ‘Farm to Fork’. We had the opportunity to taste different types of bread, cheese, fruit and vegetables from our local area and all over the world. We also investigated, with the help of staff from Tesco, where our food comes from, looking at countries from all over the world. The staff from Tesco told us all about how cheese was made and showed us how some things were made in the bakery.

  • Mill Cottage Farm Visit

    Tue 03 May 2016

In Year R our animal learning continues.  The children have enjoyed welcoming farm animals to school this week as Mill Cottage Farm visited.  The children found out about how to care for many different farm animals including pigs, alpacas and sheep.  Many of the animals were treated to a brush as part of the care routine.  The ducks, chickens and turkeys that were brought along showed the different types of birds that might be found on a farm.

“The farm was the best farm in the werld.  I licd the pigs.” Rhys

“The pics was plain in the grars they wur fends.” Lacey

Year R have been looking at creating short stories about an animal that has got lost. Lots of stories have been written in independent learning, some of these have been shared at story time.

“The rabit hopt away and his mum fowd him.” Charlie

“Once apon a time there was a rabbit She got lost and her mummy fownd her and she took her hoam” Summer
