    Konichiwa!

Japan Class has recently celebrated Japanese Children’s Day.

“We all made carp kites and flew them in the very strong wind." Ceecee.

“Japanese families fly a carp kite for their boys. Oriental legend believes that a carp swam upstream and became a strong dragon. Families fly their kites hoping that their boys will grow up to become strong and healthy man.” Heather and Jasmine.

“It was very strange because we all wore our slippers!” Fred.

We feel very lucky because Mr Beeton brought us back a carp kite from when he visited Japan in the Easter holidays.” Tia.

Mr Beeton also brought us a traditional Japanese Kokeshi doll. Families make collections of these dolls for the girls.”

    Brooke.

  • Skipping Workshop

    Fri 01 May 2015
Skipping Workshops came into school to teach the children some new skipping skills. All the children made great progress in learning how to skip including how to hold the rope and the correct way to bounce. They taught us some new skipping games such as “Sharks” and some great skipping rhymes. Some of our children really excelled themselves learning to skip whilst crossing and uncrossing legs, speed skipping, skipping with a partner, skipping between two ropes and much more. At the end of each day we celebrated by watching a demonstration from some children from each class showing what they had learned. We look forward to seeing the children practising their new skills at playtimes and teaching each other these new skipping games
