  • Book Week

    Mon 06 Oct 2014

We have had an amazing book week in school. All Year 1 & 2 classes walked to Fair Oak Library (despite the weather!) and met with the Librarian. They were shown around the library and had the opportunity to borrow books if they had become or already were members of the library.

The School Library Service has been in school on couple of days this week visiting all classes for a story time session. We were also joined by some pupils from Fair Oak Junior School yesterday, who brought some of their favourite books to share with the children.

At the end the week, all children came dressed as their favourite book character, including a Gruffalo, Winnie the Witch, Harry and his bucket full of Dinosaurs and a Hungry Caterpillar. We were also joined today by Chris Thomas, a professional Storyteller.

  • Pupil Council Visit to Sunnybank House

    Wed 01 Oct 2014

Earlier this week Year Two Pupil Council members attended the grand opening of Sunnybank House, the new care home within the village. They met the Mayor and Mayoress of Eastleigh, Fred Dinenage from Meridian Television and the staff and residents from Sunnybank House.  Following the opening ceremony the children had drinks and canapes and were then given a tour.

The children are looking forward to visiting again, sharing books with and singing for the residents.  They also want to take their iPads to share their learning! They have invited the residents to come and visit them in school.
