Year One visit to Marwell

Year One have enjoyed a fantastic visit to Marwell Zoo.  We found out lots of information in our rainforest workshop about how the conditions in the rainforest differ to the UK, as well as learning about rainforest animals.  We even got to see some of the animals up close!  We also spent time looking around the zoo at the other animals.

“I enjoyed touching all the animal skins especially the Ocelot because it was nice and soft” Amelie

I enjoyed feeling the snake skin because I like snakes. It felt scaly” George

In school we have been working on our rainforest poems in Literacy where we have been using adjectives and verbs and even rhyme to make our poems more interesting.  Here are some lines from our poems:

Three cheecy tigoos jumping in the mud. Matheu

Three nortee grorilos fighting in a boat. Ethan

We are also enjoying making our comic strips in ICT.  We have started to create our storyboards and we will soon be creating the comic on the iPads using the ‘POW’ app
