Friends of Fair Oak Infant School
Friends of Fair Oak Infant School (FoFOIS) are a group of friendly volunteer staff, parents and friends who work hard throughout the school year to raise funds for the school. We are a registered charity, and everything we raise is used to benefit all children at the school.
The committee hold an annual general meeting in the autumn term and also meet regularly throughout the year to discuss fundraising ideas and plan upcoming events.
Events that have been held during the past year include summer and Christmas fayres, plant and cake sales, craft competitions, personalised items and frozen Friday’s, to name but a few.
Members are welcome to join at any time. However, it is not necessary to be a committee member to support FoFOIS. Support can also be given by volunteering to help and/ or by attending events. This helps to make the events a success. In particular, we cannot run the big events like the Fayre’s without volunteer support.
The additional funds raised by FoFOIS have helped us do some fabulous things. This has included.
• The hire of the school minibuses for school trips
• New iPads for all class teachers
• Playground equipment
• The children’s Guinea pigs
• Additional computers for the school
• The annual 5m Christmas tree for the school hall
• Leaver gifts for Year 2
• Books for children starting in Year R
For the 2024-2025 academic year, we are focusing on raising funds to continue to pay for the school minibus lease and hire of additional minibuses. By funding the hire, we support our families by reducing the costs for educational visits. It also enables more visits to take place over the academic year. We are very happy to be able to support this way of enriching the children’s learning. Additional funds raised will also be used for the planned school playground shading project, to prove children with much needed shade in the school day and for wrap around care.
We will also be raising money to help with new playground shading, Christmas treats and experiences for the children and to buy a new outdoor sound system.

School Lottery Friends of Fair Oak Infant School have launched a school lottery through Your School Lottery! This is an exciting weekly lottery raising monies for schools in the UK. Lottery tickets cost just £1 each, with a top prize of £25,000. There is also a guaranteed winner for our school every Saturday - the value of the guaranteed prize goes up depending on the number of tickets we sell, which means there are two chances to win each week.
For every ticket sold, an amazing 40% comes back to the school and 34.2% goes towards the prize fund.
